My favorite moment at Feeder Supply was taking Patches to classes in preparation for WAGS testing. We were practicing and demonstrating how well our pooches could "leave it" and when it was our turn to run the gauntlet of tasty morsels set before us, much to my surprise and chagrin, Patches snatched a treat so quickly that neither myself or the assistant could intervene to prevent the steal. We had to repeat the gauntlet 2 more times before Patches made a clean run. I smile at the memory because she had performed so well with this exercise in the past. It was almost like she wanted to embarrass me in front of the class. That's my Patchy.
Ella loves visiting Feeders and she always sniffs the treats as she walks the aisles.

My favorite memory of feeders supply is when boker was still young and he went in to pick out his first toy and he got a little red ball with feet out of the bucket he squeked it threw the whole store a lady was even looking for the kid with the toy when she found boker in the cat isle having a 'ball' she laughed and commented on how cute he was he is cute! we go to feeder supply all the time and every time he picks the same toy!
I travel to any Feeders Supply store by bus. Unfortunately, our transit system will not allow dogs on the bus. I may try to "walk" my rescued mix Mister Lee over for party. He is in training at the St. Matthews Plaza Store starting next Thursday at 7:45 and I plan to get him there with me by taxi cab. Hopefully, I can help him get over his fear of other dogs with the help of Alfie his trainer.

It is unbelievable the amount of stress Mister Lee and I go through each day just trying to get him outside the lobby and front door of my Senior Ladies Independent Lutheran apartments. There are three other dogs here and owners who have started vicious rumors about Mister Lee. I am certain one lady is trying to "egg" him on to bit her grandchild so she can extort money or sue me. A beautiful white Westie's owners deliberately lets her dog stay on a loose rein leash so she can try to get Mister Lee and her dog to cause an incident. A puppy type poodle goes out with a 8 year old who does not yet understand doggie to doggie ettiquete (sp) and of course, Mister Lee does not understand another dog jumping on his back and biteing and rolling around. My manager Leisa loves Mister Lee and admires me working so hard with him and walking him daily (once I get past 2 or 3 dogs) over two miles. Hopefully I am not intimated and give up my lovely pet dog. OF ALL THE MAJOR PROBLEMS IN THE WORLD, WHY SOMEONE PURPOSELY TARGETS A SMALL DOG IS UNREAL. PRAY FOR ME TO NOT GET STRESSED OUT AND MR. LEE TO OBEY HIS NEW TRAINER, ALFIE AT FEEDERS SUPPLY.
Mr. Lee is a lucky dog to have been rescued by such a nice person who cares about him so much, she is taking him for training. Is there a dog park near you? Sometimes it helps dogs to learn to get along with other dogs if they can play off the leash together.
Many dogs get intimidated while on the leash because they know they cannot run away if they want to. As a matter of fact, many dogs will get on the defensive and act totally different while on the leash than if they are off it.
It sounds like the owners of the Westie just want to let their dog get to know your dog. And I doubt a person of sound mind would want a dog to actually bite their grandchild.
Please keep an open mind about your neighbors who are probably thinking they want their dogs to just be friends with your dog and know that whatever you are feeling, Mr. Lee can sense it.
So, if you are afraid of what your neighbor's dogs might do to Mr. Lee, he senses that in you and he feeds the tension.
Relax more with Mr. Lee when you are around your neighbor's dogs and say soothing things to him, like, "It's okay Mr. Lee...they just want to play with you...they don't know you are nervous."

A dog senses what the person feels who is on the other end of that leash they are connected to.

Relax more with Mr. Lee and he will sense it.

I hope he learns to relax more and get to know the other dogs where he lives.

Regards!

LOL! This was a great laugh for a Monday morning!

What happened last night?

I adopted IBN from Feeders Suppply four summers ago. since then he has roamed my home. My step dad is in the military and IBNs main job in our house hold is a protector. When my mom, sister and I have to go through year long deployments IBN stays on alert of any unwanteds around our house. Becuase of him I can sleep easy when alone. I love him!

besides IBN my girlfriend and i adopted 2 fancy rats. Theodore and Max don't live with me becuase IBN is to interested in them. Max is the fat one who eats most of the food before theodore gets a chance to eat anything. Consequently Theodore gets to spend more time out of the cage and eating bannana chips, his favorite.
Charlie is a 2 1/2 year old black lab/hound mix we adopted from Metro Animal Services. We buy all of his stuff from Feeders Supply. He loves to roam up and down each aisle, 2 or 3 times, looking for stray kibble and meeting all of the other dogs. He also appreciates shopping for treats that are located conveniently at snout-level. here's a pic of us canoeing at Land Between the Lakes. This is where he learned to swim!

Several years ago I decided it was time to start feeding my cats better quality food, so I went to the Dixie Feeders Supply and started studying the labels on several brands of food. After a while I saw something move out of the corner of my eye, so I looked up and saw the resident cat, Luna, walking across the bags of food to greet me! Before long she was in my lap, happy to meet someone new. Every time I buy food there now I think of that sweet kitty coming to see me.

As a petsitter, I don't petsit in my home. I go to their's for scheduled visits. So Lucy, if you are taking pets into your home, then yes, you would need some type of license or permit. You may even need to look into zoning issues with your home. Al…

They are probably referring to the licence you need from Louisville Metro Animal Control. You need a license for boarding (babysitting is considered the same thing as they are in your care during that time) You do need this as the fines are steep fo…

They might be referring to a business license, which you don't need for a pet sitting business. You might want to join a petsitters group like Petsitters International (www.petsit.com). They usually have a lot of good info for getting your business…
