In May of 2008, we purchased an AKC registered English Bulldog puppy from Mr. Lewis Lambert, Rockholds, KY for $1,500.00. In September 2008, the puppy became ill and we took her to the vet. The vet suggested we have the puppy fixed and the parents also be fixed and not bred as it had a hereditary disease called: Alopecia, deep pyoderm, and Demodex. I called Mr. Lambert and told him what the vet had said. We had a two year agreement with Mr. Lambert that if a veterinarian found the puppy to be ill the puppy would be replaced.

Mr. Lambert agreed to take the puppy back and replace it with another puppy or give us our money back. He did neither. I have since emailed and called Mr. Lambert to receive some satisfaction. The last conversation with my husband Mr. Lambert said “You are not going to get anything from me.” So, at that point we decided to go the legal route.

We took Mr. Lambert (Lambert Kennels) to court on August 3, 2009, Mr. Lambert did not show up and the judgment was ruled in our favor. I am now waiting for Mr. Lambert to be served a warrant.

Needless to say, we are quite frustrated. I have since checked with the Better Business Bureau and found that there is one complaint from another client of Mr. Lamberts. I have also looked online further to see that there is also a complaint (dated after I had purchased my puppy) on Yahoo.com from a lady named Melissa stating she received a dog that was also very sickly and was not full blooded like she was told and I have received numerous of emails from other people with complaints.

I received a call on 9/10/09 from someone else who is in the process of taking Mr. Lambert to court in Fayette County, which is where she found my contact information. She stated that she never even received a puppy but gave him $1,500.00 for a puppy.

Please contact me if you have had any problems with Lambert Kennels so you can be part of this.

Thanks

This is a reason why when you purchase a pup from a breeder, you research first. Sounds like this guy may be involved in puppy mill type operation. If I don't see the parents on site, I would not purchase from them. Did you pay by cash or check? Did this guy have any other breeds? How did you find him? Also taking $1500 and not giving a pup in return is called stealing to the other person taking him to court. I also can't imagine giving money to someone without a pup in my arms.

There are a lot of back yard breeders and puppy mill operations around. You have to be vigilant not to be taken in by people who have no concern about the animals or their clients. Did you give the pup back to him?

Good luck

I did do research and yes parents were on site. He was so called a christian family man. He brings his kids to do these transactions. The place was clean the dogs looked well kept. They were not dirty at all and they were well fed.

I have started a blog at: http://lambertbulldogs.blogspot.com/.

I paid through paypal so I have his bank information but he has since closed those accounts so it really did no good. The parents were on site as well as other English Bulldogs he owns or is "keeping for a family member". That was the only breed he had on site. I did give the pup back to him and he gave me a voucher for a replacement pup or my money back. He promised my 9 yr. old daughter to her face we would have a replacement by Christmas. That never happened. I have since posted on Craigslist about this man and some other sites. I have had several pepole contact me about him and he has also done other people like this as well. He has since taken his website down and is not advertising on pets4you.com. I have contacted the site to let them know what type of breeder he is. We took him to court as well as the other girl and no one showed up either time.

Hello I guess I was the lucky one I purchased a Great Dane from Mr Lambert in 2005 and she is great. We have had no problems. I found her on his website www, mygiantdogs, com and purchased her for 800.00. We live in Texas and had her flown to us at 8 weeks old. I sent him pictures several times and he put them on his website along with others. I have not seen his website in a long time. I called him several years ago and he told me that he had stopped breading dogs because of his health. I am sorry that you had have these problems and I am so glad that we haven't he seemed like a really nice man I am sorry to hear that he has done all this hope you all get it resolved and your puppies are alright.

As a petsitter, I don't petsit in my home. I go to their's for scheduled visits. So Lucy, if you are taking pets into your home, then yes, you would need some type of license or permit. You may even need to look into zoning issues with your home. Al…

They are probably referring to the licence you need from Louisville Metro Animal Control. You need a license for boarding (babysitting is considered the same thing as they are in your care during that time) You do need this as the fines are steep fo…

They might be referring to a business license, which you don't need for a pet sitting business. You might want to join a petsitters group like Petsitters International (www.petsit.com). They usually have a lot of good info for getting your business…
